Concept drawing
The project started with sketching and layout exploration. Different configurations were tested to organise the smoothie, fruit, cream, spoon, and napkin in a clear and compact way.

I always prioritise functionality in my designs. With StackaSnack, I developed a food tray that combines stackability, compartmentalisation, and easy handling for an intuitive festival food experience.

Process
Stacked with Taste, Snacked with Delight.
In this team project, we were asked to design a food tray for a festival setting. The tray had to organise different meal components clearly and efficiently, while remaining practical to carry and use.
Our final concept focused on stackability, balance, and ease of handling. By rotating the tray, it fits neatly onto another tray, making it easier to carry multiple servings with one hand and improving convenience during use.

Cardboard prototype
A first full-scale cardboard prototype was made to test dimensions, proportions, and usability. This helped evaluate how the tray could be held and how the elements worked together.

Vacuum forming
After refining the concept, the tray was developed into a 3D model and translated into a vacuum-formed result. A mould was produced to create the final tray in plastic.

User test
The final tray was tested in a real use context. This allowed us to evaluate carrying comfort, stacking behaviour, and the overall user experience during serving and eating.
Product
A tray built around the way it is carried.
The final tray brings together a smoothie cup, a fruit compartment, a cream well, a spoon slot and a napkin holder in one compact layout. Each element has its own place, keeping the meal organised and easy to eat with one hand.
By rotating the tray, it locks onto another one below it, so multiple servings can be carried at once. The result is a simple, intuitive object that turns a busy festival moment into a calmer, more comfortable experience.
